- Throop Research Fellow, Amogh V. will be attending the highly selective Beaver Works Summer Institute at MIT. Amogh was also accepted to the NIST Summer High School Internship Program, the NASA Texas Aerospace Scholars program, and the Summer Mines Engineering and Training (SUMMET) Program.

- M.H. earned second place in the Pharmacology category at the California Science and Engineering Fair. Way to go!
- O.A. received the Throop Research Academy Community Impact Award for their project, Thermal Batteries for Overnight Heat, and their subsequent efforts to implement the solution in their locality.

- Congratulations to M.H., who won 1st place in their high school’s science fair and another 1st place award in the Pharmacology category at the 2026 Los Angeles County Science & Engineering Fair (LACSEF) for their project, SAHA Enhances CAR T-cell Cytotoxicity and Increases B7-H3 Surface Expression in Human Neuroblastoma. In recognition, M.H. earned an invitation to the California Science and Engineering Fair.

- Amogh V. won First Place from the U.S. Metric Association for his Fort Worth Regional Science and Engineering Fair project, “Low-Cost Bacterial Cellulose Aerogels for Lightweight Thermal Protection in Spacecraft Heat Shields”
- A.S. was awarded a Stockholm Junior Water Regional Certificate and an NC One Water Certificate of Achievement for excellence in water-related STEM research at the North Carolina Region 5 Science and Engineering Fair. Congratulations to a most deserving student!
- Nov 2025: Amogh V.’s poster, “Metabolomic Signatures of Radiation and Microgravity-Induced Oxidative Stress in the Rat Brain: Insights from NASA OSD-832” was accepted for presentation at the American Society for Gravitational and Space Research (ASGSR) conference. This is a professional-level conference and Amogh is a high school junior!
- Sep 2025: Amogh V.’s poster, “Optimizing Aerogel-Based Materials for Enhanced Thermal Protection in Spacecraft Reentry Conditions” was accepted at the competitive MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference. This is a college-level STEM research conference and Amogh is a high school junior!
